I think that by this time, the Filipino people are starting to realize that by voting for Noynoy, they weren’t really electing Cory Aquino’s son to the post of President. I think everyone’s starting to get the creepy feeling that the man we elected as President could better be described as “Kris Aquino’s brother”. Or better yet, “Josh Aquino’s uncle”.
At the moment, the Philippine economy’s at a standstill. The 7.2% GDP growth that Noynoy was gloating about is actually a result of massive infrastructure spending during last year’s election period. And just so you know, it is now legal for foreigners to have a majority stake in mining activities, giving foreigners the legal right to exploit our natural resources.
Everyone’s afraid to ask what’s going on, after giving Noynoy such tremendous support last election. But in the corners of the government offices, in the hallways of the Philippine Stock Exchange, in the corporate headquarters of big companies, people are whispering: Now what? Nobody knows what our President is doing or in what direction he wants the country to go to. I doubt he himself knows.
I told you to vote for Gibo. But you insisted on Noynoy. Okay, now he’s President. Now what?
